Research. This international award is in recognition of
outstanding research in the field of epilepsy over the preceding
period of four years. |
| 2000 | Peter Bladin Prize of the Epilepsy
Society of Australia. Inaugural award of the Society for major
contributions to the field of Epilepsy. |
| 1997 | Selwyn-Smith Medical Research Prize
of the University of Melbourne. This award is given every three
years to the candidate who submits a record of original research
which is judged to have made the most important contribution to
medicine during the previous three years. |
| 1995 | Epilepsy Research Recognition Award
for the American Epilepsy Society. This is the major award of the
Society "for work that holds important promise for the improved
understanding, diagnosis and treatment of childhood-onset epilepsy".
The award citation emphasized contributions to the genetics of
epilepsy, especially the identification of the first specific
molecular defect in an idiopathic epilepsy. |

Royal Australasian College of Physicians for the best
contribution, as adjudged by the Council of the College, by a Fellow
to the knowledge of any branch of internal medicine. |
