:: January 16th, 2008 Opening of the Australian first OptIPortal ::

A super-broadband network and an 18-square-metre LCD screen linking the University of Melbourne and the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2) will allow Australian doctors, scientists and academia to share research using locally developed technology, was demonstrated recently in Melbourne.
